Massage for Seniors

As the U.S. population continues to age, more and more people are looking for ways to help manage the symptoms of chronic disease and aging. Massage therapy is proving to be beneficial in helping relieve some of the more debilitating physical and emotional symptoms allowing seniors to live the highest quality of life possible.

Human touch is very powerful. Massage alleviates some of the anxiety, depression and fear that accompanies aging. It creates a window for connection and paves a path for communication that is often missing and leaves this part of our community vulnerable to emotional despair creating a sense of well-being instead. Massage studies have even shown a decrease in agitation for people with dementia.

The pain relief that massage therapy provides can give seniors access to previously lost independence and activities of daily living. It is a great option for those suffering from arthritis, joint pain, muscle spasms, or circulation problems.

Mary is flexible and can come to your home or assisted living facility if travel is an issue.  Massage can be done on a massage table or chair or even seated at the kitchen table. It’s completely customizable depending on your situation and mobility issues.
